Three potential, preliminary streets have been identified:
Grand Avenue,
39th Avenue
and Broadway.

We will collect signatures from 2,500 Portlanders or 75 percent of the people living along the street to be renamed. After that, the proposal will be vetted by a three-person committee of historians and the city planning board.

The City Council will hear the planning board's recommendation, take testimony and make a final decision.
